Cookie Policy
Last updated: 18/09/26
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by The Wedding Avenue, operated by Finn Digital Media Group. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy for information about personal data, recipients, retention and your rights.
1. What cookies and similar technologies do
Cookies store small pieces of information in your browser. Other technologies, including pixels, scripts and browser storage, can store information on your device or access information from it.
Some are used to deliver a requested function or remember a privacy choice. Others measure website activity or support advertising and audience creation.
A technology can transmit information without setting a cookie. Our explanations and consent controls therefore cover the relevant tracking, not just files labelled “cookies”.
2. The purposes used on this website
Essential functions
Where used, essential technologies support functions needed to deliver the service you request, protect it or remember your consent choices. They are not used under this category to build advertising audiences or measure advertising.
Only technologies meeting the applicable legal exception operate without consent. The verified declaration below identifies them.
Website analytics — optional
Google Analytics helps us understand readership and use of our website, including page views and the enhanced measurement interactions described in our Privacy Policy.
We ask for consent before activating this optional analytics tracking. Refusing it does not prevent you from reading our articles.
Advertising and Google signals — optional
Google AdSense uses advertising technologies to serve and measure advertisements. With the relevant consent, Google and participating partners can personalise advertisements using activity on this website and elsewhere.
Our enabled Google signals feature can enrich Analytics reporting with demographic and interest information for eligible Google users. Advertising-related features require the relevant permissions; accepting ordinary website analytics is not treated as blanket permission for every advertising purpose.
Meta advertising audiences — optional
With the relevant consent, Meta Pixel shares website-event information with Meta so we can create audiences of eligible previous visitors for future Facebook and Instagram advertising.
The collection can take place before a campaign begins. It is advertising tracking and is not essential to read the website.
The intended setup does not use email correspondence to create these audiences. The Privacy Policy explains the information shared and the applicable Meta arrangement.
3. Making a choice
Our consent controls let you accept optional tracking, reject it or choose between the available purposes and providers. Optional tracking is not selected in advance.
Ignoring or closing the banner, scrolling, or continuing to browse does not count as consent. Technologies requiring consent remain inactive until the relevant choice is made.
A necessary record of your choice may remain so it can be respected. We do not use that record to create an advertising audience.
4. Cookie and technology declaration
The declaration must identify each cookie or other relevant technology actually used, rather than reproduce a generic list of everything a provider could use.
| Detail to disclose | Required information |
|---|---|
| Name and technology | Exact cookie/storage name or description of the pixel or script |
| Provider and domain | Who sets or receives it, the relevant domain and whether it is first- or third-party |
| Purpose | What the information is actually used for |
| Duration | The configured lifetime, session status and any renewal behaviour |
| Consent category | Which choice controls it, or the applicable essential purpose |
| Provider information | Relevant privacy information and advertising-provider details |
Provider default lifetimes are not automatically the lifetimes on this website. Configuration, browser restrictions and renewal behaviour can affect them.
5. How long information remains
A session cookie is intended to last for a browsing session. A persistent cookie has a longer configured lifetime. The declaration above states the relevant duration for each item.
Some lifetimes can restart following activity; that renewal should be explained in the declaration.
Cookie expiry does not establish when all information already sent to a provider is deleted. Google Analytics retention, Meta audience membership and provider-held event information are separate matters explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. Changing or withdrawing consent
Reopen to change your choices or withdraw consent.
When consent is withdrawn, we stop the relevant tracking and consent-based processing, remove relevant technologies within our control, and notify recipients and address erasure as required.
Cookies set by another domain may also need to be cleared through browser or provider controls. That does not replace our obligation to act on your withdrawal.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
7. Browser and provider controls
Your browser lets you inspect, block or delete cookies and other stored website information. Blocking necessary storage can affect functions that depend on it.
Deleting cookies may also remove the record of your privacy choice, so you may be asked to choose again. A choice made in one browser or on one device may not carry across to another.
Google provides advertising settings and an Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Meta provides privacy and advertising controls through its services. These are additional controls, not a substitute for being able to reject optional tracking on this website.
8. Links and embedded content
Following a link to a retailer, social platform or another website takes you to that organisation’s service and privacy arrangements.
An embedded service can contact another provider while you remain on our website. Any active embedded providers and their tracking must be identified in the declaration, with consent obtained where required.
9. Changes to this policy
We update this page when our technologies or purposes change. Where a change falls outside an existing consent, we request fresh consent before starting the new activity.
